The Meshkat International Quran Competition is a virtual event organized by the Meshkat Quranic Institute in cooperation with the Astan Quds Razavi, the custodianship of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.

Slated for February, the competition is held in the categories of Quran recitation (Taqleed or imitation) for men and Quran memorization for both men and women.

It is aimed at promoting the Holy Quran, strengthening unity in the Muslim Ummah and honoring the Muslim world’s Quran reciters and memorizers.

Those willing to take part in the recitation category need to send a recorded video of their recitation imitating one of the four selected recitations by renowned Qaris Sheikh Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi, Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, Sheikh Shahat Muhammad Anwar, and Sheikh Mustafa Ismail.

According to the secretariat of the contest, the deadline for submitting the recitations is February 19.

Their recitation must be no longer than 6 minutes and the file must include the first name, surname, age, and place of residence.

Recitations must be recorded horizontally with only one camera, without sound effects, without editing, and without stops or pauses.

The submitted videos will be released online after the end of the competition.
